Native Brand Placement

What is Native Brand Placement? It is a form advertising that shows the brand organically within an environment that matches the look, feel and function of the media format where they appear. They fit “natively” and seamlessly in the film, video game and/or web page. Unlike banner or display ads, native brand placements don't appear to be ads, so they don't disrupt the viewer’s/user's interaction with the content.

According to BrandonGaille, 60% of people feel more positive about brands they recognize in films. This impressive statistic shows the effectiveness of product placement rather clearly. Advertisements are taking up more and more informational space and becoming less effective because users can filter them. However, advertisers know how to promote products to persuade people to engage with them. The main reason why product placement is so effective is that brands demonstrate their products in the environment. Goods and services are woven into the content organically and do not interrupt the audience’s experience with the film. Consequently, people are not annoyed by such placements and are more loyal.

An additional positive feature is that the mood of the film can embody the brand’s personality. The viewers transfer their positive attitude from the content to the advertised products. Consumers want to look like characters and use the same brands' products, which is why protagonists often use and/or wear advertised products.

Moreover, product placement is a long-term marketing investment. Content, such as movies and video games, can go through many stages, and people watch or play it repeatedly, increasing their brand loyalty.

The Advantages of Brand Placement in native advertising are clear:

  • Power of Persuasion.

  • Visibility.

  • Brand awareness in-perpetuity.

  • Attentive audience.

  • Positive affinity.

  • Leverage the influence of entertainment.

  • Scaleable worldwide.

Types of Native brand placements available:

  • BRAND PLACEMENT: Advertises not just the product itself, but the whole brand. Brand logos will be visible, and may be described by actors in context with the film storyline.

  • IMAGE PLACEMENT: Promotes the brand’s product by placing it directly on the screen. The product becomes part of a set or scene clearly.

  • VERBAL PLACEMENT: The product is mentioned in the actors’ dialogue. This mention will fit the context and sound natural to the scene.

  • MUSIC PLACEMENT: Music label artists and composers tracks written in a scene.

  • GAME PLACEMENT: Is one of the most memorable types of placement. A scene or set may be built around the product, and characters use it necessarily.

  • LOCATION PLACEMENT: Advertises the product if it is a location.

  • GENERIC PLACEMENT: Advertises a concept, message, or product category. It does not promote a specific brand, and there are no logos visible.
