Haiti - Fall, 2023

16:53 local time on Tuesday, 12 January 2010, Haiti suffered a catastrophic 7.0mw earthquake.  With an epicenter near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 kilometres west of Port-au-Prince, the massive earthquake struck Haiti and transformed the capital city into a nightmare.  The moments of the 30second quake left more than 250,000 people dead and more than 300,000 seriously injured.

Seven days later, greiBO was standing on the rubble of a toppled building across the street from the Palace. A journey meant to document the devastation, quickly turned to one of realization. A realization of the amazing resiliency of hope and kindness of the people of Haiti.  For that moment in time the world rallied to Haiti’s aid, but sadly, attention seems to have fallen away far too quickly. It’s now 2023 and the city has not rebuilt. GBG will be on the ground again this fall to followup on the current state of things.
